I need to insert correct information about my husband, whom you have listed as Daniel D. Harris - how he died on the movie set of Saving Mr. Banks, his full correct name as Daniel Duffey Harris, and a better bio. I do not know who entered existing info, which is sort-of correct, but there is a lot more that people should know. The edit form is not working for me.

Can you explain how the edit system isn't working for you. If members of this board can understand the exact nature of the problem we can provide better assistance.

I wanted to actually change his name (as it's basically the "title" of the page) to Daniel Duffey Harris.  The edit form somehow did not provide a space to edit the name itself.  Then I did have a nickname for him, as he was known as "The Danimator". Then I would like to put in his own bio that we had for him on his web page, and possibly a link to his obituary, as he died while working on Saving Mr. Banks.  It is probably good for people to know his family background, as his parents were both quite renowned.  But the 1st step, to change the name to include his middle name, is what was the problem.  I did not try much further, but the edit form didn't seem to allow me to type anything in the spaces.

I have just now added the info I wish to submit on the edit form, but it appears to be "stuck", not ready for submission.  Can you please look at what I have submitted and tell me what I need to fix so that it can be published?  Thanks.  I gave up on the nickname, and that's okay - it's saying there are too many similar ones, so fine, forget that.

This is the Internet Movie Database; therefore the Primary Name (the name at the top of the page) should be his 'stage name' i.e. the name most commonly shown in the on-screen credits, not his legal name.

It appears that he was always credited as Daniel D. Harris; therefore this should remain as his Primary Name.

There is an item in the Biography Group titled Birth Name. This is where his complete birth name should go.

There is also a Nickname section, for you to add the nickname.

Certainly you should add a mini-Bio since he doesn't currently have one. (What you see on the display pages is not actually stored in the database, but is generated by the system from other data items.) If you are going to copy and paste the Biography, make sure that you are using a plain text file; word processors (like Microsoft Word) use codes for things like 'curly quotes' that IMDb does not recognize.

We cannot see your work, but when a specific item is ready to post the background turns green. If there is a problem it turns red or beige.

The red background indicates an error that must be corrected, while the beige background is a warning that may be bypassed.

In either case there should be a message indicating what needs to be done. What sections are you attempting to update/add to and what messages are shown?

I believe my updates have now worked - all backgrounds were green and submission was allowed. Thank you.
