Why is it that when I add a new name to 1 of my lists, when I press save and go back to it, the order is changed? Then every time I try to change it back, it becomes more messed up.

This happens quite a lot on one of my largest lists (and on another smaller one, but there is less to mess up on that so it isn't as obvious). It appears to come from the list order numbers being messed up in the database. If memory serves, on one page I have a run of entries with the same order number then others with odd gaps and clusters. If you try and move a list item into one of those problematic areas it seems the system doesn't know what to do with it.

The only solution I've found that works is to use renumbering (rather than drag and drop) to move the film to a number that exists and isn't a duplicate. If you need to move them between pages, then the detailed view gives you more titles a page. Not a workable fix in every case but it can help.

I'll see if I can get some screenshots of the weird order numbering as it'd be good to get this fixed.

This seems to be the same problem:
