Dead people in title listings

I din't know when the next redesign is scheduled -- and this is a suggestion that I have made before ---and it may be too expensive --  but...

Is there some way that the names of people who have died could be displayed in a different color, perhaps the orange/salmon color, or green, or some color other than black or blue, in a title's credit listings?

This would be an additional unique feature for IMDb.

While IMDb is not a resume service, this would greatly assist productions in "tracking down" people.

Also, for movie mavens and film historians like myself, it would greatly assist research.

Is Jerry Maren really the last cast member of The Wizard of Oz to die? Are Olivia de Havilland and Mickey Kuhn really the last two surviving cast members of Gone With The Wind?  Etc., etc., etc.

Just a suggestion that will probably never happen.

8,539,000 Titles
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8539000/reference
9,898,000 Names
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm9898000/

IMDb would have to look up each name on all the titles pages
to see if the person is Dead or Alive (every day ??)

I would like to see the Age of the person next to the name on each title
That would take some sort of calculation on each name
and make the pages a little more bulky to load

Thanks for the specific info, especially about Ambrose Schindler and Caren Marsh.  IMDb would not have to "look up each name on all the titles pages to see if the person is Dead or Alive."  Instead, a program could be designed that, once a death date was entered, that name would automatically change color in the listings for every title in which it appeared.  I'm just dreaming...

Poll Suggestion: We're Off to Quote the Wizard...
A chapter of history has definitely been turned
with the passing of Jerry Maren, last surviving Munchkin since 2014,
the year The Wizard of Oz (1939) celebrated its 75th anniversary,
along with another masterpiece from a whiz of a director Victor Fleming.
Indeed, the iconic classic is probably after Gone with the Wind (1939)
one of the most quotable movies of legendary 1939, if not all cinema's history.
So, remembering through Jerry Marren, the Munchkins
and the legacy of one of the all-time greatest classics,
which of these quotes from the film is your favorite?

I would like to suggest that if Bradley's suggestion to display names of deceased cast and crew in a different color is ever implemented, it should be optional. I personally don't think I would choose to display casts and crews that way. If that is some users' preference, that's fine, but it should be a user's voluntary choice whether or not to do so.

But... wouldn't it be fun IF it did!  This would give IMDb another unique feature IF it did.

Would you want the feature to apply to all kinds of title pages? It would be a lot of work to have it on all the various apps, the mobile site pages, the standard desktop view, pro pages (and IIRC there is a pro app) and the reference view - I am not sure if that is a full list.

It would also raise issues with how the feature works for people with visual impairments.

I do not know how much of the name display code is shared between the various views but it might make the idea more feasible if it is limited to just one view, I would expect that those who would be interested would probably want it on the reference view.

FWIW, I'm one of those old skool reference view users, and I personally wouldn't want it. But that's just me of course.
