Death Dates not processed. Why?

Here are resubmissions of two death dates that have not been processed, just like their earlier submissions:

180611-144900-6500002018-06-11 14:49:00Clair, Suzanne
Date of Death -  1 item added
180610-171748-6720002018-06-10 17:17:48Grossman, Danny (I)
Birth Name -  1 item added
Date of Death -  1 item added

IF you would go to the webpages provided, you would see that both are valid information.

And, yes, the date on the processing page says that they BOTH should have been processed.

On a side note, if you know their dates of death, then you should also know their dates of birth.

Not true.  Sometimes, information about a death date DOES NOT include the date of birth.  Look at most obituaries.  Such an "should" assumption is incorrect!

Hi Bradley Kent -

I reviewed both submissions and noted that they were not approved because our editors were unable to verify the information, specifically, the evidence links provided were not from a verifiable enough source to approve the data.  Please keep in mind that where birth and death dates are concerned, ideally we are looking for links to public records, printed publications, or official documents.

If you have a more verifiable source for the dates/individuals submitted, please re-submit with those links and our editors will take another look.

Both of the sources that I cited are verifiable IF you go to the websites listed.  Did you go to those websites?

Both sources are verifiable IF you go to the websites cited.  Did you read my explanations?  Did you see the Leslie Howard documentary on TCM?  Did you go to Danny's Facebook page?

By the way, https://deadorkicking.com is a specific website that IMDb could use to verify many death dates.

Hi Bradley Kent -

Please keep in mind that when verifying data we need to consider the source of the information, while blogs and websites like deadorkicking.com may report death dates for individuals, unless we can verify the source to determine credibility, we cannot publish that information on the site.  This is why our preferred evidence for these data types be more official, such as a published obituary, official document, major news publication, etc.

Yes. I have tried.  But a death in 1942 probably does not have a newspaper obituary.  Many deaths do not have newspaper obituaries.  SAGAFTRA even has what they call "the 100 Club," performers supposedly over the age of 100 for which obituaries are not available.  I could give you a very long list of the names of actors and actresses in silent films for which IMDb does not have a death date.  The 1930s?  The 1940s? The 1950's?  Even the 1960s and 1970s?

In the USA, you can use the Social Security Death Index, but that is also not complete.  IMDb is wearing blinders of certitude that are not always applicable, especially with dates of long ago before Social Security and in other countries -- the majority.  I am not asking IMDb to lower their standards, but they should be realistic within a historical perspective.  Otherwise, the truth suffers, and IMDb is complicit in supporting untruths.

I cannot open Michelle's response of two hours ago.  How do I access it?

By the way I have submitted many death dates over the years that have been accepted even though that were not from "official records."  To get an obituary listed in The New York Times, for example, you usually have to pay for it!

How do I research "official records" for 1942 in London?

I believe the replies were for an off-topic post, which has been removed.

There are some databases online, such as this one:

I tried to use this database, but found nothing.  Can someone else try?

Suzanne Bier Birth name: Violette Cunnington
age 32
November 3, 1942
Stepney, London, England, UK
pneumonia

Although she did not die of war wounds, I suspect that, in wartime, deaths may nothave been accurately recorded.

It looks like her names was anglicised for the death record.

I have added her likely year of birth (1910)

What a battle!  Thanks for finally processing the Suzanne Clair death date.  I know that Danny Grossman died.  He was a former student/friend of mine who I also directed in theatre productions.  I will keep researching this until IMDb finally accepts the truth.

Hello,
There are 20 recent deaths (in 2019) that record the month or only 2019, but not the actual day of death, therefore they are always the last names on a list of dead actors (and others) on IMDB. Please update the names with the full date of death.
