Declined Submissions even with evidence!

Funny how often submissions get declined based on "unable to verify" when you've, in fact,  provided evidence!  It's even worse when the idiot imdb person asks you to "provide an explanation" when you already did.  Someone posted that Kiefer Sutherland didn't know his father was an actor until he was 18.  There are TWO interviews on youtube of him dispelling this rumor.  Imbd asked for evidence.  They got it.  They declined it.

I've seen this. Sometimes the evidence is not as rigorous as maybe IMDB would like (eg a forum posting of a death from the person's friend, rather than a news site death notice/obituary) but it's better than no evidence at all.

I submitted one recently: the death of folk/music-hall performer Al Sealey (one half of Cosmotheka). There was already a date of death of "December 1999" and I added a precise date and cause of death, taken from a forum posting a few days later from one of his friends.

But that was rejected as "unable to verify".

My feeling is that if there is already a vague entry (which has passed verification in the past), the "evidence hurdle" should be a lot lower if I submit more precise information that does not contradict that existing entry.

In my case, I cannot find any other evidence. He was not important enough to rate a newspaper story of his death, especially one that has survived online for 20 years. If IMDB can't be bothered to accept my submission, it's their loss...

That's too bad.  The irony is that there are two interviews (one on Regis and Kelly and one on the Today Show).  Kiefer Sutherland is actually asked if it was true that he didn't know that his father was an actor until he was 18.  He said, "No.  I wasn't able to watch his movies for a long time, but I always knew he was an actor."  The irony is that it's much easier to make a new post without evidence on imdb than to have one removed with evidence.  Something is very backwards there.

Can you post the related submission reference number associated with your update here so I can take a look?
