I have tried multiple times to delete an IMDB.com credit. I follow all of the steps described on the website. I have emailed imdb.com support 10 times over the past few years. Now I need help from the IMDB community. Is there anyone out there who can help me? Please??

Thank you!

Sorry to hear about this. If you can be more specific on what data you are attempting to remove, a contributor might be able to help.

Rebecca,

Thank you for the reply. What evidence do you own that suggests this credit is factual? Where can I see this evidence. It is my name. I have rights and I would like this credit removed at once.

Thank you :)
Matthew

Maybe I missed something, but what is the reason why this credit should be removed? Is it wrong (name doesn't appear in the opening/end credits)? Is it "uncredited" credit and the person didn't appear/work in the film?

All I know is I am matthew guarneri and I am NOT involved in this project what so ever. I see no evidence of my involvement. I am involved in no projects on imdb nor will I ever be. Please respect my privacy and remove my name at once.

Thank you :)

If there's a IMDb name for "Matthew Guarneri" and it's definitely not you, then it's probably another person with the same name. Obviously IMDb won't remove any names based on that.

If you are sure that some credit in IMDB has credited to YOUR name (and not the person with same name) and you didn't work on that film and you weren't credited on that film, then it could be another matter.

Our situation is the latter. I know the film, know the people involved, but I was NOT involved. This information listed on imdb.com is false, inaccurate, and misleading.

Can you please explain what we do from here?

I am guessing this is you:

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3903578/?ref_=nv_sr_1

So you're saying you didn't work on any of these films?

Based on the internal history of this credit we will not be removing this credit as it is a breach of policy to remove factual information.

Thank you for understanding.

Hey

I don't understand. I want this removed. I did not agree to any of your terms. I did not allow for my information to be publicly displayed.

Is there a phone number to call?

Yes I am saying I worked on none of these films. I know the people involved in some of them, but not the second one. Only the last one. Please remove my name. I don't see why that is an issue or why this must be a difficult process. I don't think much traffic goes to any of these pages.

Please respect my privacy and my wish to remove my name from any of these public listings.

Like Rebecca has already mentioned above, If "Your Name" has been listed (credited) in the screen credits, then it is considered a "fact" and cannot be deleted.

However, if you submit production or union / guild paperwork to IMDb administrators stating that you didn't work on any of them, (proof), then perhaps IMDb can make a correction in the trivia section of your page and / or each of the films' pages with something like: "Your Name" has been credited incorrectly as "Position" or a variation there-of. Maybe.

How do I find production or union paperwork? Do these projects even have companies behind them? There is no company information on any of these projects.

These films are so small I'm surprised this is even an issue. Can you please help me. Please let me know if there is information I can provide beside production paperwork due to the simple reason that I'm certain there is no company that is behind any of these films.

Previously you stated that you know these film makers, reaching out to them would be a first step.

Film / TV projects big or small, (from Paramount to Netflix to a film project from a university's film program to internet porn) all have paper trails you can follow.

For example, someone or some entity has had to have financed the production. As the old saying goes... Follow the money.

Someone has to have gotten crew and cast members onto the project, they all of had to have signed deal memos and contracts for all sorts of legal and copyright reasons including insurance and taxes, if they waive their rights to payment (volunteer) or the specific amount they are getting paid, screen credits, etc.

Then there is filming permits for location shooting from the municipality you are shooting in, like vacant / occupied buildings, parks, streets etc. studio rental rental agreements, equipment rental agreements... And the list goes on.

Point is, all of these things have paperwork you can follow which will lead you to the key person who headed the production, and that will verify who you say you are and if you have worked on or not have worked on said productions.

And the people you say you know will help you in resolving your credits issue, because this Matthew Guarneri person definitely has a paperwork trail.

And I agree with you on the posted image from toby. It's unreadable. Perhaps there is information on there that you can follow up on??? Maybe you can reach out to toby via private message for clarification which will help point you in the right direction.

Hope this helps.

Hi Matt,

As previously stated we will not be removing the item based on the internal history of this credit and the other information available as it is a direct breach of our policies.

Thank you for understanding.

Will
