Having issues removing a credit from my page - I can't remove it, the director of the film can't remove it, the producer can't remove it...help!

Here is the film: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6466928/

It has me listed as an "electrician" - I never even worked on this! No one seems able to remove me from the credits, even the people who created the page and mistakenly added me!

Hi Joshua,

Could you please share the 18 digit submission number, so an IMDb staff may have a look?

Here is the latest submission number. I've tried numerous times to remove it, as have other people.
I've never worked as an electrician in my career!

Hello Joshua Zucker-Pluda,
It’s always difficult to prove that you DIDN’T do something.

Hi Joshua -
I can see that your recent credit removal request was not accepted as our editors were unable to verify the change.  If possible, are you able to view the on-screen credits for this film and provide screen grabs here so our staff can take another look?

Hi Michelle - no, I can’t. I don’t have access to the film, because I never worked on it!
The director and producer both tried to remove the IMDb credit, but it was still rejected! They’re the ones who added me in error. This is insane!

No it's not insane, it is just to understand how IMDb works: anyone can edit any data. But you'd better provide supporting evidence.
The director or the producer may be able to provide a secure link to the film (Vimeo?) to the IMDb editors, or screen grabs to support the claim.
It is more complex to prove that a day is missing but it is feasible.
Or another contributor might have another and better idea.

Except that they added in me in error, and without my permission. The actual creators of the entry have written, explaining the error - and it’s still not removed. So yeah, it’s pretty insane. We’re talking about a small student film, not the Supreme Court. This shouldn’t be such a process.

So is there anything anyone can do here? The people who mistakenly created the credit can't remove it - I can't remove it - IMDB won't remove it. This is pretty absurd.

The people who made the mistake didn't seem to have to prove that I worked on the project, but somehow I have to prove that I didn't? This is beyond the pale.

Joshua, is it possible that the producer/director (who, as you said, added you in error) could provide you the screenshots of the credits?

Hi, Joshua Zucker-Pluda. You may or may not be aware, but anonymous or pseudonymous, often authentic people, have come to this forum trying to defraud IMDb, from time to time. We really have no way to know that you do not belong to that type. You claim that the filmmaker added your name in error. How is that possible? Why would your name be mistakenly chosen? You claim that they tried to reverse the error? Could you please ask them for the 18-digit reference numbers of the reversion attempts?

Also I spent about a half an hour trying to find a video on this at the AFI's site to no avail. Will look more when I get time.

I think I’m in the credits - but I’ve never seen the film, so I don’t know. Like I said - some student producer made an error, and it’s been carried up the chain. If it’s on my IMDB, it’s very likely that I’m also mistakenly on the actual film credits.

If you are in the credits you are listed for life. There is no way to remove.
May I ask. Is this somehow hurting you?

Which Film are you not supposed to be in?
A lot of people that are here will try to find it a get that screen grab Michelle asked for. You would be surprised how resourceful we can be. Us contributors that is.
Cheers

Is it Devs  Thriller | TV Series (2019– )
If it is this, I can see why they can't verify. It is not been released yet. They will always take an accredited studio or production companies submitted data over one single persons request. If you can't get the production staff on the project to make the request for you, you won't get any success until this is released.
Another thought.
Do they have an official page that shows all cast and crew credits?

If it is not and it is one of your other credits, I'll bet someone will find a Screen-grab.

No, I worked on Devs and that’s verified. It’s “La Sirena”, an AFI thesis film.

Here is the 18 digit reference number from the director when she tried to remove the credit - this is the person who MADE the listing originally.

Joshua, if your name is on the actual credits (final, released version), IMDb most likely won’t remove the credit.

You can try submitting ”credit only” attribute, but that’s usually used with actors:

Since no one can confirm or deny you are in the credits, IMDb might take into consideration the original submitter's word. Also if you could get the original submitter to add to this post by an "Appearance" here that might help to sway the editors. But do it quickly. The staff will be at work in about 11 1/2 hours.
