Hi,

I'd like to delete one of my ratings, but can't figure out how to do this.

When i export my ratings.csv file, I find one title corrupted, specifically:
3175 tt0801935 Tue Mar 20 00:00:00 2012 Lonely Planet: Argentina TV Episode 1994 adventure, reality_tv http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0801935/
as the columns 'You rated', 'IMDb Rating', and 'Runtime' are blank.

This title used to have this information, but one is now unable to rate all the Lonely Planet episodes anymore, and it appears this change has corrupted my ratings list.

How can i delete this corrupted item from my ratings list?

Hi Gavin Pringle,

You cannot directly add or remove titles from your ratings list. You can only remove a title rating by going to the title page and unrating the title.

Unfortunately, it appears that the episode of Globe Trekker (TV Series) Argentina cannot not be rated and conversely have a rating removed. I checked a few other episodes and it appears these also cannot be rated. However, the series still can be rated.

This looks like a problem that only an IMDb staff member can address.

Note: I am a long time user of IMDb, and not a staff member.

Thanks Dan, your summary is perfect.  Do you know the best route to get IMDb staff to act on this?

Hi Gavin Pringle,

IMDb staff members monitor IMDb's Get Satisfaction site. With the Christmas and New Years holidays, this may monitoring may be a reduced level.

The following quick fix may work ... if you look at the old version of this page via http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0801935/combined is there a "Your Rating" line under the "User Rating" at the top?  If so, you can delete your vote from there or re-vote as appropriate.

Hi Col,

Yes, there is 'Your Rating' line.

I clicked 'delete' to remove my rating, but the error "Sorry, there was a problem" was thrown.  A page refresh shows my rating intact.

The year (or Original Air Date) is set to "????" which may be causing the issue.

It might help to know that, in my corrupted ratings.csv file, the following columns are blank: "You rated", "IMDb rating", "Runtime (mins)", and "Release Date (month/day/year)".  The "Year" column is *not* blank, however: it contains "1994".

We have changed some of the data so please try again on the normal title page -> http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0801935/

If that does not work, can you remove the rating from your ratings list via your profile -> http://www.imdb.com/profile

I can now delete my rating, thanks.

However, I don't want to! I'm happy now as my ratings.csv is no longer 'corrupted', in that each and every movie in the list now as a rating.

Should I delete my rating?  I guess the format of that title was changed for a reason and if it's changed again my ratings.csv will be corrupted again.

Hopefully if you re-vote it will be okay this time around.
