Democracy in action. Open ballot voting for additional Poll Admins

There has been concern that the group of "Poll Admins" that is, the Champions and Members who are responsible for choosing which polls go live has become cabalistic and cliqueish.

Indeed, this is not an abnormal phenomenon, it occurs in most real world and online environments where an individual or group of individuals gain "too much power".

I suggest that regular contributors to the board nominate and openly vote on the addition of at least 3 to 4 new members for the IMDb Poll Admin group.

I shall leave the definition of "regular contributor" to the staff, but it should include only those accounts who have a total number of posts exceeding a certain number, as well a minimum number of posts over, say, the 90 days prior to voting.

I agree about your idea, but since my name is on the list, I won't comment on it.

Cinephile,

Go ahead and comment.

You can even recuse yourself as a candidate if you wish.

But we need open and honest discussion.

In fact, let's forget "nominations" for now.

I shall ask an Admin to remove my list of nominations so we can discuss the issue objectively.

There was a thread where we discussed about some rules we could establish... I've got to find it!
