Hello,
Stage productions on screen normally have two directors:
Stage director
Screen director.
Most of the time, it's the first one who is listed as director, for instance:
Shakespeare's Globe: Henry IV, Part 1 (tt5304126) and Part 2 (tt5305152)
Dominic Dromgoole is the stage director for the two plays
The screen directors are Robin Lough (part 1) and Ross MacGibbon (part 2) (from the end credits).

Since IMDb is concerned with the screen, shouldn't the director listed be the screen director, instead of the stage director?

I couldn't find any information in the guidelines nor any attribute in the Director section that would deal with the issue.
The attribut Stage Manager wouldn't be relevant.

Is it okay to enter the two directors and create new attributes: Stage and Screen?

There is no reason not to have more than one director if such a case exists. For example, I added two directors to the recent Rent:Live!

Rudzinski, Alex (I)(live television direction by)

Greif, Michael(directed by)

I think Greif would be the stage director in this case. It is important that you credit the individuals as they are credited on screen and not a generic "stage director" or "screen director".

It obviously depends on the production and how the people are actually credited, but I have also added ”two directors” in some cases, usually when the other is ”stage director” and other is ”television director”.

It’s kinda difficult to separate the two when some stage/theater production is shown on television (or released on DVD/Blu-ray). In some cases there can be credits under the header ”stage” and then credits under ”television” - and both sections have ”director” listed. In these cases I usually add ”director: stage” and ”director: television”.

Thank you for your replies
I will edit the pages in order to have the two directors.

They are credited in the end credit as Stage Director and Screen director respectively.
So I guess that is the attribute I will give them

Okay. Not having seen the item you were talking about it was hard to tell if you were speaking in the general sense of job attributes or the actual credited roles. (And, I haven't seen anyone credited that way but I generally don't watch a lot of filmed stage plays.)

I was not arguing. Sorry if I gave that impression.
I was just confirming the information in the credits.

Pascal, I was just clarifying my previous response to you based on new information. No argument assumed.
