Disenchantment (Season 2 or Season 1 part 2)?

Hello!

Yesterday I was working in another website adding the castilian spanish dubbing actors for "Disenchantment".

I released that in "NETFLIX" is credited as "Part 2" (aka "Season 1 - Part 2"). But here it was credited as "Season 2".

But now there's a few people that they're telling me that IT IS the 2nd part of Season 1. Because "It's a Netflix show, they know what season are showing".

So...

Who can I trust?

Just like British TV talks about series (instead of seasons), this just happens to be parts (instead of seasons). I think IMDb is going to consider is seasons and there will be a third part.

If these were different parts of the same season they would appear under a single tab on Netflix instead of having a drop down to select the "part". They were also released over a year apart which seems to be a season than a part of a season.

Netflix makes no mention of "seasons" for this series that I can see. Why do you think Part 2 is of Season 1?

I don't know if it's a part 2 or not. xD

I think is season 2. But, it's true that "Disenchantment" is a Netflix show, so I think they know who to place it.

Netflix can call it anything they want of course, but that is not necessarily how IMDb calls it. Obvious example: IMDb doesn't use "parts", just seasons. So if there has been a long time between the first batch of episodes released and the second batch of episodes released, it's possible IMDb considers it a second season. I think these kinds of things are decided on a case by case basis.

I've seen official announcements that say two 10 episode seasons and one 20 episode season in two parts. Personally I think that these are two parts of season one, due to the production codes being "1DNT" and then the episode number.

Unfortunately I don't see a 100% unassailable answer either way, so I think we should wait for the third part to be released and check those production codes to see if there is a change.

I'll mark this as answered for now or else it'll hang out here for years while we wait for release!

I think a more definitive answer may be how they present this season's Lucifer which will be in two parts. I've watched a few Netflix originals and they are usually marked as "Parts" which IMDb translates to season. Currently, I'm watching Trollhunters which has 3 "Parts" each about a year between them.

As much as I agree with Adrian on the case of Netflix's "Parts" are generally being reflected on the IMDB as seasons, reading this it seems to me this case is more like Breaking Bad's two part final season. Final season of Breaking Bad was aired in two parts, there was a long time between first 8 episodes and last 8 episodes but still they are listed as Season 5.
