Does IMDB automatically reject for words like 'racist'

I made a very accurate post on the Green Book, which is a movie about racism amongst other things.

What I said it is 'I laughed, I cried, and I was reminded of pages of our American racist past...

It was rejected. There is nothing offensive or wrong about that unless IMDB believes we don't have a racist past...

Yeah, my opinion, yes. Substitute racist with discriminatory and it should slide through.

Hi, Bruce Yablon. Well, most likely somebody was offended enough to prevent publication of your review. Maybe it would be less offensive if you reworded your first paragraph as "I laughed, I cried, I was reminded of pages of America's racist past." I don't know. Regardless, it is wise to be careful about how the words "we", "us", "our" and "ours" are used. A lot of United States citizens had nothing to with racism back then (Jim Crow policies), and have nothing to do with racism now.

Bruce, the more you learn about this ridiculous site “get satisfaction“ the more you’ll realize what a mistake Amazon made in hiring these people. IMDb is a great site - this “get satisfaction” is absolutely ridiculous. You’ll find this out when you try to have them stop sending you these ridiculous emails I’ve tried it . Can’t be done

Guarantee they take this comment off. You watch. Joe R

Joe,

I am afraid that you are mixing responsibilities: review rejection is in the hands of IMDb. GS just provide the forum infrastructure (and its email notification) to discuss about it!

No, they don't, although I wouldn't be surprised if such words flag them for review.  I've had reviews accepted, including recently, that included the word "racist" and its variants.

I like that you called that a "post," though, because I wouldn't call it a "review," either.  That said, there's a lot worse on IMDb now.  I would guess that the awkward phrasing of "our American racist past" may've confused an editor into suspecting that you're injecting a blanket personal political statement or something.  I'd recommend cleaning up that language on purely literary grounds, but I don't see how it doesn't meet IMDb's guidelines.
