IMDb doesn't notify anyone of changes made but if a credit were removed or changed it would be fully visible to anyone visiting that page. However, one simply doesn't "choose" to have their name removed from a listing. Either you are listed in the on-screen credits or you are not. IMDb seeks to represent accurately credits as they are listed on-screen.
