I have a client who is listed on imdb for a TV show he starred in. Not sure or not but I believe he may have had another imdbpro account before. The reason I think he may have had a previous account is when i go to his public profile on imdbpro the main profile that is on imdb and connected to the show, it has a vanity url when i look at it from imdbpro, which is now expired. My question is how to I connect this account to his public profile so I can update his photo. Currently he doesn't have a photo with the show listing. Does the imdbpro account connect to the official public page or do I just go in through imdbpro like anyone could to update the info. the new imdbpro account we are using is connected to his credit card with his name so you will know its him. I was going to contact support, but I wanted to try here first. please advise, thank you.

If you go to his page, while logged into Pro, you should see a red "claim page" button. I believe it should let you if not currently linked to an active Pro account. That would let you upload a resume, head shot, up to 100 photos. Other than that, credits get added as you'd normally do so if not linked.

thank you for your quick reply. I don't see that button. I see a show on imdbpro option but that's it. also, all I have is his photo right now, no bio or anything else. plus all the credits we are concerned about at the moment are already listed on the main site.

On his "main details" page, if he has not claimed his page, it should say under his details, "Represent Joe Smith?" If you click the links there it should offer to you "claim page."

If he's still on record as having claimed it, that won't show.

If he's already "claimed" the page, can you have him log in and use the link on this page to relinquish it, then you can claim it. http://pro.imdb.com/help/search?domai...

His name is listed on the show with his middle initial and his name is listed on his middle initial on his main page too. We just created the new account without the middle initial because that is the way he wants to be listed going forward. Is that OK?

If it created a new Name Page, with the new name, and he still has the old Name Page with older credits, you should instead change the name on his page, rather than create a new one, so all credits are on the same page.

Where he's been credited without the initial, on screen, those credits will still be on the, for example, "Joe Smith" page, but should say "as Joe A. Smith." You're right that he should be listed as he will be credited going forward, but he will want to list all his credits. But the database should reflect what's on screen to avoid confusion. (You're really learning it all now! You'll be expert in this stuff really soon!)

learning it and loving it. all his credits have the middle initial and he hasn't had anything major with the new name change. may they reject the name without the middle initial because all the major credits are with it?

one more question. if my client or someone else created an account for him in the past and now we don't have access to it, how do we prove its him and claim the current account without access to the old one. One thing comes to mind. The new / current account is in his name with credit card to match. It's not exactly a common name either.

I'd say, you should contact staff directly. The posted instructions, in the Help section only reference contacting the person and getting them to cancel the claim to the page. So, staff probably needs to reset that for you.

You can contact staff at http://www.imdb.com/helpdesk/contact_...

If he has more than on IMDb name page, you can them merge them into the one you have claim to by following these instructions http://www.imdb.com/help/show_leaf?na...

Yeah, then you're good. It's actually one page. It just looks different when you're logged in to Pro vs. Regular user account (or not logged in).

I have the new pro page created without the middle initial that is on the name page on imdb, i see you can add links to the name page. if my client is a doctor can i list his medical site which isn't hisname.com as his site? if yes should i list it as Official Site or Company Site Name? also, I'm going to list his Facebook fan page and YouTube. Also, can I list him as Dr. XXX XXX or just his name?
