There is a double profile under my name. My fault. I watched the helpful little video on how to merge names, but I did not find it straightforward. Had a BRILLIANT idea - in my infinite wisdom I thought - hey just delete the account with the evil double. What did I forget? They were both created under the same email.
If you search me, I still come up under the 2 names, but I cannot administer the account and make changes.

Are you sure the prior merge attempt has been declined?

You say you tried to merge them? That's the right course, if you started with (II) and chose
To make sure you're merging the correct direction (to the right name), I'd paste the name constant into the submission box:
I would uncheck the Preserve name since the names are exactly the same.
