I noticed that the page for OVA of the anime "Kaichou wa Maid-sama" exists twice :
Once as a TV Movie (which is accurate) : https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5844736
And once as an episode for the TV-Series : https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6927440

Is it possible to merge the two, and thus deleting the TV Episode page ?

HI, Luma. Logged-in (registered) users of IMDb do have the technical capacity submit merge edits upon IMDb title entries, but sometimes it is not appropriate to do so. The case at hand may or may not be one whereby it would be more appropriate to add a movie connection that illustrates that a movie is edited into an episode of a series, or vice versa. We should discuss it a bit, and then you, somebody or I can go on to carry out the action of submitting an update.

Hi Luma,

Thank you for your message, have you got any sources which can help us verify those changes?

Hi Will,

Well first of all the release dates are identical, 11 May 2011.
Also the Wikipedia page of the Anime (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Maid_Sama!_episodes) states that the episode called "Omake Dayo" (the name of the TV Episode on IMDb) is an OVA (the TV Movie page corresponds to the OVA of the anime).

So I'm quite sure that these two pages correspond to the same title :)

Hi Luma,

Thank you for the links.

After some research we have decided the best way to display this is to keep the standalone title with all the complete information on it, the episode will not be removed but turned into a shell episode without any filmography to indicate it is a canon part of the series.

Thank you for understanding.

Hi Jaime,

Wouldn't it be more accurate if the episode page was removed and the standalone page stated as a following of the series in the connections, thus indicating it is a canon part of the series ?

I actually don't really understand what a shell episode correpsponds to.

Hi Luma,

Thanks for the reply.

The shell episode is generally used when a title that has been released on it's own but is later aired as part of a series - we wish to keep the data as accurate as possible without duplicating credits so we host a full standalone title and use a shell episode to show that it was aired as part of a series.

Though this case is not as clear cut as that we feel that this is the best way of displaying as much accurate information as possible whilst still maintaining a clear link to the original series.

Thank you for understanding.

Hi Jaime,

Thanks for your reply :)

But is'nt that what the connections page (stating that the OVA is a following or a Spin-off of the series) is for ?
I don't see the point of having two pages for the same title, as it can be really confusing. Furthermore, very few are the people who are going to check the Trivia to see that the Episode is in reality a shell episode, and so the majority will think that the Episode page and the Standalone page correspond to two separate titles.

Understandable, but that's how countless titles are already handled.
