I found a duplicate character page from an actors bio page. Where do I report a duplicate character page?

The Chevy Chase bio page : http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000331/

contains links to characters he plays. I wanted to make certain I had watch all the Clark Griswold movies and when I saw European Vacation I clicked the link:

http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0005918/

but then I noticed it didn't list Christmas Vacation. So I found that listing and clicked the link and came to a different character page with one addition, the Xmas film.

http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0338627/

I registered to report. I hope it is something helpful. I'm not really emotional over this issue. I thought it was odd. Will reporting this get me laid? What's the emoticon for seasonally depressed with insomnia?

cheers

We've requested a merge of these separate character pages, they should be combined into a single character page listing on the site shortly!

It would be great if there was an option for Merge/Combine in the list of possible corrections. David Pierce (II) and David Hyde Pierce are the same actor. The former entry has two of his early credits (including The Terminator) while the latter has the rest:

Cheers,

Merging people is straighforward:

Possible, perhaps. I certainly wouldn't call that straightforward -- this seems much more than a "name correction." Regardless, thanks for the info.

It is simple, if you correct the name to that of an exist person, it will merge the two. Granted they could have a separate "Name Merge" box, but it'd do exactly the same thing, so you might as well do two things through one box.

I too agree that there should be an easier way to report on duplicate character pages. Now that I've found this topic, hopefully more people can use this thread to report on such duplicates.
2 Sonic the Hedgehogs:

http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0272533/
And I thought there were two Bowsers at one time (the Nintendo character), but maybe that's been fixed. http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0008408/

And Brent R., to answer your question, merging names is a lot easier than merging characters. Just go to the duplicate name, and do a name correction change to change the name to the original one.

Make a suggestion, as this comes up quite a bit and it'd be great to get a system where this can be sorted out easily - although staff sort it out quickly on here, so perhaps all we need is a character merge thread, like this...

This is a great conversation that's separate from the main topic, so I created a new topic to continue the discussion. Please reference the new topic here: Merging character pages
