We editors are more than aware that at times shots and scenes we want to include in a film have to be removed for the good of the story, duration requirements or other reasons. However, to remove the editor from the main page credits on IMDbPro is a cut even the most ruthless of editors would shy away from.

To view the main credits of a Spielberg film with no mention of Michael Kahn would be absurd. To suggest that the work of Thelma Schoonmaker is not an integral part of a Scorsese film and not deserving of main credit status is not only ridiculous but shows a complete lack of understanding of the filmmaking process.

So please reconsider the inclusion of the Editor on a film's front page on IMDb Pro.

First I am wondering WHY IMDbpro is considering excluding the Editor from the main page of the credits?

If the producers of a movie think the Editor should be on the main page doesn't that indicate something? They actually know who does what on a production and they equally well know that they could not market an unedited film. I cannot recall a recent feature movie which has not given the Editor a single card credit on the film itself. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Please follow the well established practice of including the Editor on the main page.
