Epic war films missing genres

Scenes having a total war theme in films like 300 (2006), Troy (2004), 300 rise of an empire (2014) and Padmaavat (2018) do not have war genre. Tried to add the "War" genre but no success. Films have prolonged war scenes of historical battles. Can I know should I add War genre or not (despite having war based scenes too much with R rating of war battle violence?)

Hi Harshad -

To be eligible for a 'War' genre, the titles will need to contain numerous scenes and/or a narrative that pertains to a real war (i.e., past or current). If the war depicted in the title is fictional, the genre listing is not eligible and should instead be listed as a Keyword.  If you feel that your recent submissions were incorrectly rejected, please submit the genre again and our staff will take another look.  Cheers!

I"ve added nearly 1000 times War genre. That's not fair that the films I've mentioned as War films rejected each second each minute. Well I'll give a try or else I have to come here again to get Sorted.

And Michelle, temme one thing havent you heard "Battle Of Troy"? It was actually a war and a Trojan horse concept where a massive war took place. Troy (2004) is based on that as well. 300 (2006) and its sequel has numerous war scenes of Spartans, still counted as ACTION only. And last Padmaavat (2018) there was a massive historical war fought between Rajputana Army and Mughals was not included in genre. I mean thats not acceptable as an editor that's my major concern.

Hi Harshad -

In order to investigate further, can you post some of the recent submission reference numbers associated with these War Genre submissions?  Once I have those details I can investigate the rejections further.

(Padmaavat 2018) This has been added finally but make sure it mustnt get deleted as it has WAR scenes. Rest 180503-050650-548000 (Troy 2004), 180503-050927-833000 (300 2006) and 180503-051104-257000 (300 rise of an empire (2014)) are still not processed. Added WAR in each and these are case reference numbers. Please have a look...

Hi Harshad -

Thanks for posting the additional details, I was able to review these submissions and noted that your Genre updates for both "300" and "300: Rise of an Empire" are still pending review.  Currently Genres are processed through April 30, 2018, so your submissions should be reviewed shortly, in the meantime you can keep an eye on our Data Processing Times.

Concerning the title "Troy", I see that this submission was not approved because the title currently doesn't qualify as a War film.  Although there may be scenes of war, or if the war is a backdrop for the film, unless it is a driving force of the film we would not list it as a genre.

I hope this helps, let us know if you have any further questions or issues concerning your submissions.

Clearly the battle of Troy is the main narrative of Troy (2004). But a better answer would be that the story is from
Greek myth and it is not known how much of it is based in fact.
