Hi Craig -

Can you try again and see if the problem is still occurring?

If you are still seeing the error, can you provide some additional details about the exact steps you are taking and what error you are seeing?

Thanks for the reply Michelle. I have been using IMDb for 12 years to keep track of the movies I see in the theatre. Over the years the number of movies I have seen has increased to a record last year of 140+. My list over this time frame has since exceeded 900. With this many of movies, I expect the server to be slow. However when I rate my movies and attempt to move from My rated movies to the yearly list, I receive this error

We're sorry; an error occured and we were not able to complete your task. Please try again.

This does not allow me to directly go to that year's list to update my notes with date and location of where I saw it. I learned yesterday that even though I receive the error message, it did transfer the movie to my correct list. It is a slight inconvenience but it is one I can live with if I have too.

The ratings list a special list, which you can't manipulate in the way you would other lists. Now I haven't tried to do this, but I'd imagine there'd be reasons you couldn't move a rated list from the list (as it is on the list because you've rated it).

So you're going to the movie's page and rating the movie, then going to your ratings list and transferring it to your annual list where you then make notes?

You can cut out the steps where you go to the ratings list and transfer the title - that might eliminate the error you're seeing.

  • Rate the movie on the movie's page like normal.

  • Hit the arrow next to the "Watchlist" box on the movie's page - this will pull up all your lists.

  • Click on the annual list to add the title to the list.

  • Click on the arrow next to the annual list and it will take you to the annual list where you can add your comment.
