Hello to everyone!
I am trying to find movies from SEARCH ENGINE of IMDB.
The problem is that i want to EXCLUDE movies from China or from Pakistan or from USA for example?
Do you know if it is possible?

Hi Filcollins,

If you go to advance title search you should be able to populate results by selecting the countries that your would like to include here: http://www.imdb.com/search/title

Hi, Kurt!
I tried it as you told me. And as a result I take 0 (zero) results. It's because, maybe, the search engine finds combined results for all the countries at once. For example, if you select countries: USA, Argentina, Greece, Spain...as outcome you take nothing because there are not movies from these countries simultaneously! Try it if you want. You will realize that it is a problem..
Thanks!!

Hi Filcollins,

In this case, if you are want lists of each USA, Argentina, Greece, Spain films then I would recommend doing an Advanced title search with your requires filters for each of the counties. For example, go through the advanced title search filters, save your filters and select each country one at a time to populate your results. Do the same with the next country.

Best,
Kurt

... select each country one at a time ...
So, if we want to search on many or most countries
(and "exclude" just a few),  we'll have to run many searches.

Hi Nobody,

That's correct, at the moment, with the advanced title search as when selecting multiple countries it works as an 'and' search rather than an 'or' search meaning it will only look up films that have both/all country 1 and 2 (just an example) as a country. This is currently intended to function this way.

Best,
Kurt

The old (no longer functional) exclusion functionality
was useful ... too bad it's gone.

Τhey (imdb)should make it possible because it would be helpful for the users. The same problem exists, when somebody tries to search for movies and wants to exclude animation, for example.
Anyway, thanks you!
