David Benioff has one other major franchise credit on his resume, X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009). Fans had one major takeaway from it...they ruined Deadpool! With the last season of Game of Thrones (2011) receiving bad reviews, mainly from the handling of Daenerys Targaryen. Which character's story arc was more unforgiving?

I know I will be an inevitable minority in this one, but I actually prefer X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) to The Wolverine (2013) and Logan (2017). All three movies are fairly decent, but the latter two, despite being way more acclaimd simply lack the punch and fall into area of "okay" with me. That is especially the case with Logan (2017) which actually managed to nonchalantly cannibalize significiant chunks of X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985). The funniest part is that it was praised for exact same things for which the other three were panned: it just was released in an uncanny lucky spot when people wanted exactly that from an X-Men movie and totally forgot that they got it already.
Don't get me wrong, Origins has a ton of problems: logic was thrown out of window in at least a third of that movie's plot, some of the characters were adapted rather loosely... But overall it has some very solid acting and soul on its own. It also had a theme, something I find lacking in most of the recent superhero movies, Logan (2017) included.

Not sure that they can be compared.

Yeah. Deadpool in the Wolverine movie is a relatively minor character. He's merely a third on the list of antagonists. Stryker and Victor Creed/Sabretooth are far more important to the story arc and conflict than Deadpool's glorified cameo.
Cameos don't get story arcs.

It is not so much a comparison of each character's story but their portrayal or handling. I will change the question from arc to portrayal as I agree that character depth wise they can not be compared.

It seems like this should be one sentence and not two:
With the last season of Game of Thrones (2011) receiving bad reviews, mainly from the handling of Daenerys Targaryen, which character's portrayal was more unforgiving?

Congratulations. Deadpool!
Daenerys is a Targaryen. Remember her Ancestor. History repeated. It couldn't have been more logical what happened to her. I think the end of GoT was near to perfect! I loved it! :D Specially in the last season my eyes were tied to the screen. It was unbearable, but so good! :D

The main complaint I've heard is that the transition should have been spread out over more seasons not have it all unfold over one. No one is questioning the result of her character just the progression. There should have been more seeds of her growing paranoia in seasons 6 and 7 if they knew the show was only going 8.

I get your point and it's totally ok for me, that many other people, too, don't like that her madness didn't arise over a longer period of time. That would have been more dramatically, but also foreseeable. I see her as a madman. All thinkable madman had that plans before, but when you ask the neighbours: "Oh, he was such a nice person, well educated and polite. ... Yes all the time. We never would have thought ...". You know, what I mean? Some years ago we had a soccer professional, Robert Enke. No one would have expected him as a depressive person. And then he killed himself, not coping with his disease. It's not easy too look in someone's heart! :(

I have heard a lot about Deadpool handling, however, since he is one of the Marvel characters I barely know, It did not bother me when I saw it.
