HBO - some superlative content, and a lot of boring stuff (at least for my taste.)

Netflix - not as much superlative content, but a hell of a lot of "good enough to watch" stuff.

Hi Ed, there's no Showtime in my country, so I searched for that streaming service and found Showtime is a subsidary of Viacom and Starz belongs to Lionsgate.

I'm curious are they allied somehow to make them sister networks?
