L.A. Confidential is definitely the better movie of the two, but I must admit I just adore the soundtrack of Boogie Nights (1997). "Brand New Key" by Melanie. My God, I've seen Melanie Safka live in concert 30 years ago. This is pure nostalgia.

'Tough call, but maybe because Boogie Nights is a bit more contemporary, it's depiction is closer to what I know of L.A. Both brilliantly illustrate the despair, emptiness, violence, and exploitation behind the glamour and what happens to people lost in a desire for fame and acceptance and an eagerness to fit into certain conventions. 'Good face-off.

I remember, very clearly, when you suggested your first poll and talking to you on its discussion thread, thinking that you were a natural and hoping that you'd stick around because you were really cool and I could tell you'd make some great polls. It's amazing that you've hit the 100 mark in only a year and not because you just mass-produced a bunch of mediocre polls; rather, you've made a lot of smart, creative, and interesting polls. Bravo!
