Besides "London After Midnight," I'd like to see other Gothic horror related titles, such as "Life Without Soul" (1915), a Frankenstein film, and there are a few seemingly-missing early adaptations of "The Picture of Dorian Gray."  And I'd like to see Murnau's 1920 version of Jekyll and Hyde, as well as, of course, "Four Devils," another kind of film.

Any Theda Bara film or some of the once-well-regarded films from the 1910s by Herbert Brenon would be nice, or just discovering "Sin" (1915), directed by Brenon and starring Bara would be grand, too.

I've been watching Lubitsch films lately, and it'd be nice to recover "The Patriot" (1928) and "Kiss Me Again" (1925).

Oh, and "The Miracle Man" (1919), definitely.

The trouble is, there are SO many lost silent films. They keep finding them, like Alice White's SHOW GIRL (1928).

Indeed, and it'd be nice if more of the ones that do still exist were released on home video or for streaming.

So many are sitting in archives because they are under copyright.

"So many are sitting in archives because they are under copyright." Sadly the opposite effect of what was intended by the eighth clause of the eighth Section of the first Article of the United States Constitution.

Most of Marion Davies' MGM silents are under copyright (they are post-1922) and controlled by Warners. Most of the silent films of Buster Keaton, Norma Talmadge and Constance Talmadge are controlled by Cohen Media Group which bought up the old Raymond Rohauer Collection.

I love that suggestion! For your consideration: The Mountain Eagle (1926), the only major Alfred Hitchcock feature which is lost.

It's also a big pity for me personally that no titles on which Hitchcock was title designer in 1920-1922 survived.

I concur on The Mountain Eagle as it is the only silent feature film directed by Hitchcock which remains lost. Supposedly, Hitchcock was glad it became lost as he was not happy with the end result.

I added the Hitchcock film, and a lost Lon Chaney film, and a lost John Gilbert film. The other superstars represented by lost films here are Marion Davies, Gloria Swanson, W.C. Fields, Louise Brooks, Bessie Love, Norma Talmadge, Janet Gaylor, Esther Ralston, Theda Bara, and Colleen Moore.

From your list 4 Devils.

For your consideration: The Perils of Pauline, which is partially lost and the few things that remain are stored in the Library of Congress

Also the case for The Patriot were only a few minutes are known.

'Very cool idea for a poll. My vote: Human Wreckage or Flaming Youth.

May I suggest one small edit? (adding a comma after (1927))

Which lost silent film, aside from London After Midnight (1927), would you most want to find?

Der Golem (1915) and especially Abenteuer eines Zehnmarkscheins ("Adventures of a Ten Marks Note", written by film theorist Béla Balázs, 1926) would interest me.
