I have absolutely NO IDEA who she is, let alone have any proverbial horses in this race but I'm curious how you picked these 15 options out of her 49 total movie credits? Esp. when Bride's Play only has 107 votes. What was your methodology?
I picked well-known films that are mostly available on BLU/DVD and/or have been shown on TCM. Davies was a major star of the silent era and into the talkie era. WHEN KNIGHTHOOD WAS IN FLOWER and LITTLE OLD NEW YORK ranked among the biggest box-office films of 1922 and 1923 making her the #1 female box office star of those years. She was named "Queen of the Screen" by theater owners. THE PATSY and SHOW PEOPLE rank among the great silent comedies. Thanks for asking.
107 votes is not well-known. 3000 votes isn't well-known either and thats the highest one.
It's well known among fans of silent films. Serious film buffs vote for these films, not the comic book crowd. It's all relative. THE BRIDE'S PLAY was restored and shown for the first time in 95 years at Library of Congress in June 2017 and has aired on TCM. It's also available of DVD. It's well known among those likely to vote in a Marion Davies poll.
Fair. I just think a majority of the votes are going to come from people who have only seen 1 of the movies as a complete fluke, but I could be wrong.
