I saw this old black and white gangster movie more than 30 years ago. The movie was either American or French. I only remember the last scene and initially I thought it was one of Humphrey Bogart's master pieces but haven't been able to find it in his list of movies!
In the last scene, this gangster is running up a hill away from a gang of cops following him just to be confronted by another group of cops, with guns pulled awaiting for him. As soon as he sees them he turns around to go back down this hill. At this moment, he knew this was the end of the road so he pulled his gun/s firing at the cops which was reciprocated by the cops. I think he took a lot of shots and started rolling down the hill and at this point the movie ended.
Any help would be appreciated.
