First time a submission was declined, unable to follow suggestions

My submission was declined for the first time.  Makes me wonder how my other submissions were accepted and this one wasn't.

"Please go to your Contribution History, re-load the submission reference and tick the box “provide an explanation to assist in processing this submission” and “check these updates”. "

First of all, when I go to my submission history, my submission does NOT appear in the list.  Even when I submit the submission number assigned to my contribution, it doesn't acknowledge my submission.

I can be seen on the screen twice in the episode, I have my pay stuff for working on the show.  Since the suggested method doesn't work, what do I do next?  This is very frustrating to be given a suggested method that does not work.  Further, why isn't my submission in my submission history?

The picture below is one of several screen caps from the episode.  That is me on the left side of the screen playing pool.  Another shows me standing there waiting to take a shot, and in another shot I am looking at the camera as there was some commotion causing most everyone to look and see what was happening.

Rosario Dawson even came up to the pool table between shots and talked to me, which is of course wasn't filmed.

Please post the 18-digit reference number of the submission so an IMDb representative can review the update and respond.

Testshoot. You clearly are an "uncredited" credited extra in the production. IMDb rules state that you must use the uncredited attribute when on all non screen crawl credits there is no credited credit in your name.

Also you have asked for answers but have not really provide a full explanation. My reply above is speculative.

Since you cannot find your contribution, tell me, how did you know it was declined?

Did you go to this page to find your contribution.
https://contribute.imdb.com/contributions/history

If you did then post a screen shot here of the reason it was declined, along with the 18-digit reference number of the submission referenced by GMJ above.

And please explain in more detail whether you did or did not receive an on screen credit, and if no on screen credit was given, if that is the only screen capture of you in the production then the credit would rightly be denied as your face is not seen. IMDb has rules about screen presence that state that you must be clearly identifiable. The capture you have given above is insufficient.

Thanks

I am sorry if I stated things incorrectly,  I am not and did not claim I was "credited" in the tiles of the episode.

I know it was denied as when I click on the link in my submission mail, it says it was declined.

I thought stated the purpose of the decline, i.e. :"Your contribution has been declined. We have been unable to verify your contribution. Unfortunately we were unable to accept your submission as we were unable to verify the information provided."

I clearly said that the picture I submitted was one of several screen caps, one does show me looking at the camera.

When I am on the page showing the declined submission, I clicked on the "contribution history" link right about it and the submission is not there.

I should resubmit this question as the subject has changed from "why was I declined" to why doesn't the corrective process work.  At this point, it isn't about my credit, the issue is why the IMDB process fails.

The link you provided takes me to a different page then the page I reach when I click "contribution history".

Although I want to know why I should have to follow your link to see my contributions vs. the "contribution history" link on the page I view the decline on.

Although I would still like to understand why the process fails, it is a moot point as I submitted the request again and it was approved the second time.

My take on it is rather than follow the instructions which don't work, I should instead submit again which did work :)

Discovered some more interesting things in my contributions.  I made a submission for the TV show "Interrogation".  It was declined with this explanation, "ReasonNot specified
Your contribution has been declined. We did not capture a specific reason during processing."

Like Briarpatch, I submitted again and my second submission was accepted.

What is more disturbing is when I tried to change my about page trivia section I got declines there too...

For instance, "Working as a movie and TV extra in New Mexico.".  When my credits clearly confirm that I am indeed a BG person in New Mexico.  I have seven BG credits for filming in NM but they are unable to verify...huh?

Or, how about this trivia page change:

BeforePublished freelance glamour photographer, videographer, and / computer consultant

AfterPublished freelance photographer, videographer, and computer consultant. Specializing in celebrity, event, and panoramic photography.

They accepted that I was a photographer and videographer already but when I said I specialized in celebrity, event, and panoramic photography they declined it?  Even the web link on my page would take them to my panoramic photography page.

Seems they are too eager to click the "decline" button when the proof is there.  Is the staff on a quota and hitting "decline" is quicker than actually checking the information provided?

Thanks Ed

I am having the EXACT SAME issue. They declined my submission, then told me that I could re-submit it with more info. They mentioned that I needed to reload my submission reference, but I didn't find anything when I searched for it. It's a little difficult to resubmit something if I don't know where to find, or even IF I have this reference....whatever it is. The only code I found brought me to a submission I had made years ago, but nothing about the issue I was asking them about now. Dear IMDB, if I don't have the code, I obviously can't provide it to you, now can I?

You can find the way to reload here.
https://contribute.imdb.com/updates/history/?ref_=helpms_ch_ci_history
Find that submission and click on the highlighted 18 digit number. It will reopen your original submission form and you can make the corrections and resubmit.

Hi there, we do need the submission reference number so we can specifically assist you. It may be that you're not including the (uncredited) attribute when you're submitting.
