Forum Threads need a button to get "Most Recent Comment"

The thread are ranked so the age of the comments is there and is a good practice, but when the thread has 100 comments over 15 pages and all you know is that the most recent comment was made "4 hours ago" it is very tedious to find.  You already "track" and use this info to age the threads.  Should be easy to do?

I'm not sure if I understand so if my response misses the mark, I apologize. If you click on the hyperlink listed (as say, Latest Posting) "4 hours ago" it will take you directly to the latest comment.

It made sense to me. lol
The only thing I would add to that is; the "latest posting" column is on the right, where you would click the "4 hours ago." :)

There are four settings for thread views that you can set by going to your "boards profile" page and choosing between Nest/Thread/In Line/Flat.

If your view is In Line or Flat, the newest post in the thread appears at the bottom and they are in order by time  This is good for finding the most recent, but in certain types of threads, like where people reply specifically to certain comments, it makes it difficult to figure out to whom a reply meant to be. In those cases, Nest and Threaded views are better as a new reply goes directly under the comment the user means to respond.  Thus the different views for different needs.

I prefer seeing which reply goes to which, but the setting only helps if they click "reply" on the right comment (which they don't always do).  Some, like you prefer to see what are the newest comments and have that option.

edit to add:

If you like to use Threaded or Nested, but want to view a certain thread to see the newest, you can click the link at the top of the thread to view that one in  the other modes without changing your board profile setting.
