there is no death listing for fred shuessler casting director on gone with the wind. if he were alive today he would be in the Guiness book of World Records as the oldest person alive today.

Frederick Edward Schuessler is in the U.S., Social Security Applications and Claims Index which should only feature deceased people.

ahhhh I saw that and thought the 1936-2007 meant year of birth and death and that it was someone else with the same name. The answer was right under my nose the whole time.

I agree it seems unlikely that Fred is still alive, however we shouldn't put a death date on his page without receiving some form of evidence that proves this is the case. The absence of data is better than presumed data. I've moved this thread to the "I need to know" section so hopefully another contributor interested in birth and death dates will spot it and be able to provide an answer.

In addition, his birth month and year (July 12, 1896) and his death on January 30, 1962, confirmed his age at the time of his death (65).

CliffJ, my biggest fear is becoming deformed or having a deformed baby (my next biggest fear being having a baby period), but Eraserhead bored me to tears. I'm just able to distinguish between reality and make-up. No point feeling bad for or freaking out about someone who can wipe their make-up off and go home looking normal when shooting is done. If they used real ultra-old people in the movie then yeah I'd be freakin' out though, to be honest

Was just checking out something unrelated. This is in the no way department. Fred the cockatoo from Baretta TV program is still alive @ over 100 years old. Did not know that they lived that long.
