I actually wanted to know here i had opened many cases regarding genres, first SPIDERMAN 1/2/3 have no sci-fi, second a user had deleted some genres in pages like AIRLIFT (2016), TUBELIGHT (2017), I (2015), VEERAPPAN (2016), to which i had rectified. Now one more thing, if a genre (lets say for Hollywood) does not require editing after genres specified, so why here is not applied. Airlift is a biopic of a man who helped Indians in 1990 gulfwar, second Spiderman 1/2/3 the villains and heroes possess powers which falls in sci fi, third, Tubelight is a war drama based on 1962 Indo China war. Does War must be compared with Action genre? Veerappan is a crime film where he murders people and Action is added? My concern is do genres must be stop added after its verification (as in Fight Club (1999))?

Hi Mohammad -

In order to be as comprehensive and current as possible we cannot restrict Genre updates for a specific title or reject further changes, however, note that we will only add a genre for a title if the genre is applicable to the title, you can see our current genre definitions here.

So for example, a user could submit a genre update to "Fight Club" for 'Musical', however, we would reject the genre update as it doesn't apply to the film.

Occasionally incorrect genres may be listed for titles where there is confusion about similar genres (such as Thriller and Horror), however, when inaccuracies are reported through the online Update form our staff will review them and make the applicable additions/corrections/deletions.

One more thing, even Airlift is nOt action. So it must not be accepted na. Further most American Psycho (2000) is an out and out slasher thriller but moreover i cannot add even thriller. That does not make sense yet? Veerappan (2016) is bout a mass murderer but editors accepted those "murder" scenes as Action. My concern is do keep on genre listing but main issue is do not add those which are actually not in these genres. Needed answer for above concerns yet i mentioned now?
