Getting a "cast verified" submission to be accepted

Suppose there is a title which already has a Cast-Complete flag, submitted by someone other than me. If I confirm by comparison with the off-screen credits that IMDB is already correct, should it be sufficient for me to submit a Cast-Verified flag ("I can verify that the cast is complete already") or is there any additional evidence that I need to submit in support of this? (If so, how would I submit that evidence, since there isn't a field to supply an explanation?).

I ask because I very often find that the Cast-Verified status never gets processed. I'm reminded of this because I submitted such a flag yesterday. It's not been processed yet, whereas a Cast-Complete flag would have been. OK, it may take a bit longer due to extra stages in processing, but what is the normal processing time?

Since it is so common for me to find that Cast-Verified is ignored, I'm left wondering if I'm doing it wrongly ;-)

In the case of the submission I made yesterday, there is no "Track Contribution" button, so evidently this type of submission can't yet be tracked online so there is no way for IMDB staff to inform me whether or not there is a problem...

What happens if I find that the credits are *not* correct (despite someone else claiming that they are using a Cast-Complete) and I correct them? Am I allowed to submit a Cast-Verified flag in the same submission as the corrections, or must someone else verify that my corrections really are correct?

Hi Martin -

If you post the submission reference number here I will be happy to take a look and confirm the status for you.

In cases where the cast is listed as "Complete" and the cast is locked, but there are errors, you should contact our support team directly via the Contact Us form and follow the path: IMDb Fan/Contributor questions > Filmography credits > Other credit issue to report it.

If you are submitting a correction to the cast data, you can submit the Cast Verified request at the same time.

Thanks, Michelle. I left it a couple of days in case the Verified appeared, but it hasn't done. The ID is 190422-111924-478000.

It's useful to know that it is permissible to correct an episode that has a Cast-Complete flag and can then Verify that my corrections are correct. I'll remember that if the situation arises.

Hi Martin -

I can confirm that the updated was approved and the cast for the "Screen Two" episode is listed as Complete.  Cheers!

Michelle, did you mean "Complete" or "Verified"? It was already Complete and I submitted Verify, so if my update had been approved I expected you to say that the status was now "Verified".
