Goof entries in Trivia category.

Several times I have reported Goofs that have been entered in the Trivia categories, such as: "Triangle (1998)

The alternate version of Scully is identified as an OSS agent, but the OSS did not exist in 1939. (OSS being the precursor to the CIA)

My reports have usually been worded as, "This is not Trivia. It is a Goof." The response I get is "Insufficient data."

How do I report these entries in such a way to get them moved or removed?

Hi Michael -

The explanation you referenced should be sufficient.  Can you clarify what exact steps you are taking to submit the updates?

You should submit a deletion to the existing trivia item (with the explanation) and then re-submit the data as a new Goof.

I came with the exact same question. I am not happy with the official response. I often see trivia listed as a goof (and never the other way). I want a one-stop shopping experience. What Michael supplied should be sufficient. It happens so often that there should be a selection for it correction reasons. Having to edit two pages is beyond what I will invest to correct an error that the original author and reviewer should have caught.

Hi both,

It is a case of discoverability for our users and it can be often difficult for us internally to be able to establish if an entry is a duplicate or an existing item or whether it is just being deleted without the user checking that the item already exists as a goof. We wouldn't want to remove information that people found genuinely interesting. In this case I've removed the item as this goof entry already covers the information. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0751249/goofs?ref_=tttrv_ql_2

I don't have a problem with selecting the goof entry, copying it, submitting a deletion and adding a trivia entry with the pasted wording (reworded slightly if necessary). I usually do them in the same submission by selecting "Correct/Delete" for Goof and "Add 1 entry" for Trivia.

I've done this many times. Dead easy.

The same applies to duplicate goof or trivia entries, where it may be necessary simply to delete one of them (reason: duplicate of another entry), or it may be necessary also to edit the other entry to as to merge information from the one that's being deleted.
