group character name

I'm entering credits which have several cast groups, identified only as a group. For example, there's an entire screen with "Traveling Ponca" at the top followed by about 23 names. That one's OK -- Ponca is both singular and plural, so I can just use Traveling Ponca as the character name for all the entries. More problematic are "Military" (7 characters), "Fort Personnel" (21), and "Courtroom" (38) -- again, just the group name at the top of the page and a list of actors below. What character name do I use for these?

Edward: Based on https://contribute.imdb.com/updates/guide/cast#character and https://contribute.imdb.com/updates/guide/cast#group, I would say that you can make minor modifications to the on-screen character name descriptions where necessary to have the character name make sense or be grammatical. But I would recommend making as few modifications as possible.

I would leave "Military" and "Fort Personnel" in those forms rather than modifying those words (despite their plural implications), but I would consider using something like "Courtroom Person" in place of "Courtroom".

OK, thanks for the advice. Sounds good to me.

While I'm here -- seems silly to start another thread -- what's the trick for expanding the number of entries in a category? I'm pretty sure I read it once but can't find it. The cast list has about 140 people but the menu only allows up to 90.

Edward: See https://contribute.imdb.com/updates/guide/contributor_top_tips, and under Submission Tips, click on:
  • Titles: How to add more than the default number of data for all lists
Note that the tip there only works for a film or television show that is already in the database; it doesn't work for a project that you are in the process of submitting as a new title.

Thanks. That's what I remembered reading. I gather it only works when starting an update, not when I'm already building an update and find that I need more? That's where I am now ... I suppose I'll have to create a second update. I've done that before.
