The first has 3 seasons and the third season is in fact the other title I listed. Is it still accurate to depict the entire thing as a mini series if there was a gap of 8 (between seasons 1 and 2) or even 12 (between seasons 2 and 3) years between the production? If so, then tt0312142/ needs to be merged with tt0087400/ I think season 2 existed on its own at some point as well on imdb, but that one already got merged. And is it still a "mini-series" this way with 3 seasons over such a long time or should it be categorized as a "series"?

On a side-note, I already wrote in my opening post that season 2 existed as a separate title as well at some point and had probably around 1,000 votes on it before it got merged. Is there any way to bring these back or will it start at zero again?

Indeed, "Die zweite Heimat - Chronik einer Jugend" was at tt0105906 until this year.
yep I also see that all the reviews for "Die zweite Heimat - Chronik einer Jugend" can now be found at "Heimat - Eine deutsche Chronik" which is a bit confusing
This is not the only group of mini-series and sequels that this has happened to recently, where it is not at all appropriate. It has also happened to Prime Suspect, which should be listed as seven separate mini-series, and not a TV series of seven seasons.

Looks like the separate Prime Suspect titles are still listed even though they have also been added to the original series.
