Help with fixing UFC 222

I need some help cleaning up UFC 222.

I entered this live sports event as a TV Special last month (like I always do, like all previous UFC events are listed as), and it looked fine when I checked on it this weekend when the event took place, but today I saw that it is now entered as "Episode #1.1" in a new TV Series called UFC 222 that someone has created.

This is all kinds of confusing. I have no idea how someone managed to do this accidentally, since it would include a lot of deliberate edits to make this mess, so I want to check with you before I try to fix it :)

My suggestions: should be returned to a standalone TV Special. should never have been created in the first place, but to keep any new information that has, I guess it should be merged into tt7994012 *after* the TV Special has been returned to normal.

Sounds good? Or is there a better way to do this?

Or maybe the TV Series is just an empty entry that the system created automatically if someone accidentally changed tt7994012 into a TV Episode..? That would explain how it became this messy, without anyone actually making all the weird edits deliberately :)

Either way, can you help me make these edits, or should I do them myself? If I do them myself I need to wait until tt7994012 has been returned back to a standalone TV Special before I merge tt8071580 into it, and I don't want another user doing edits at the same time that somehow recreates this weird mess :)

Or if the theory of the automatically created TV Series entry is correct, maybe tt8071580 should just be deleted after tt7994012 has been restored into a standalone TV Special..?

Sorry for making a wall of text on this small issue, but it's the first time I've seen this happen, and wanted to check with you before I'd accidentally make it even worse :)

You can correct this by submitting a Title Correction and a Keyword from the main title page, not from episode page #1.1. The title is currently stored in IMDb this way:

"UFC 222: Cyborg vs. Kunitskaya" (2018)

When you go to the Update Information for... page, scroll down to the Other Corrections section. Click the Title Corrections category.
Type the title this way:

UFC 222: Cyborg vs. Kunitskaya (2018) (TV)

In the explanation box, type a short statement why the title is being changed. Example: Correcting title format from TV series to TV special. You can also post the URL of this discussion page.

On the same submission, go to Keywords and type the following term:

Acknowledge this yellow warning message ("There is a mismatch between the title type of the old and new titles.") by clicking the checkbox to the left of the following statement:

Warning understood, go ahead anyway.

Data on the episode page and the main page will combine into one page. When approved, give at least 2-3 days for processing.

(For what it's worth, on another matter, it appears a number of the UFC pages are mistakenly listed on IMDb as TV Movies. The pages can easily be corrected by adding tv-special to the Keywords section for each program.)

I hope this helps. Please write back if you have any more questions.
