If I put an older movie on the Watch List, and it comes up on a TV
channel, in, say, the next 6 months, will they notify me of this
upcoming date? That is what I am trying to do when I add movies to the
Watch List. Have them notify me when they are scheduled to play. Am I
doing the right thing?

No, Watch list is your list of movies which you're willing to watch. Once you completed watching that movie just remove the movie from that list. It's your list you are not going to notified from anyone it's your decision to watch.

Moreover, how would you let IMDb know which TV or subscribed on-demand channels you can access in order to be adequately notified?

Actually, you can't be notified but if you add a movie to watch list you can click on that particular title and on app there is an option Watch Now or on TV. I think you should explore the option and your problem will be resolved.

Thank you. I didn't see "Watch now or on TV" on the IMDb site, just "Watch Now".
But I did try TCM and TV Guide and if it comes on I believe they will let me know. I know TCM has shown the move I want to see but who knows when It will run again. It can be found for sale at a price that I consider too high and I'd be taking a chance on quality.
