How about adding VR Films as a category on IMDB?

We don’t have a unique category for VR films, but you should be able to submit as a movie or a short movie.  You can add the type of camera and Cinematographic Process that you use uniquely for the Oculus Rift via the technical info section.

On a different but peripherally related topic, note that IMDb still hasn't added a "Web series" category. Even a Web series that may never appear on TV will be listed as a "TV series" on IMDb.

An alternative workaround would be to define appropriate "Keywords" describing production types. Indeed, "web series" and other related Keywords have already been defined for that purpose.

"Virtual reality" related Keywords have also been defined although, IIUC, the existing keywords don't specifically refer to VR as a production-type or viewing method. It would be possible to define a new Keyword for "Virtual Reality Production" (?) or something like that.

Unfortunately, IMO, the Keywords system arguably suffers from some limitations and some organizational and oversight issues. ... Still, since there are no Title Type categories for Virtual Reality productions and Web productions etc., Keywords may be the only practical alternative currently available.
