Can't you just set up a filter in your email to automatically put such emails in a folder (or Trash)?

I set up my filter based on the sender email: do-not-reply-here@imdb.com

Look in Settings for Filters.

Yes I'm having the same problem, I don't like it that imdb emails me for every contribution I make to movie, TV show and video game pages. I want to turn off the setting or have so it doesn't clutter our emails, I hope imdb will let us change the inbox setting.

How to unsubscribe from IMDb notifications:
  1. Visit your IMDb profile at Email preferences;
  2. In the "IMDb Informational Emails" uncheck those types of e-mails that you prefer not receiving;
  3. In the "IMDb Subscription Emails and Newsletters" uncheck all options;
  4. Click "Save" button (yellow) at the bottom of the page.

Hi, MAthePA. That won't solve Brandon's problem.

Hi, Jeorj. If you mean he has possibly lost a previous account and hence can not unsubscribe, I really care more about other users who might read this topic in future. Anyway, my advise should be in hand for CrosswalkX participated above. Thanks

PS: hmmm.
Jeorj, do you mean the contribution reports can not be stopped when "Do not send me informational emails" is selected?

MAthePA, the emails both posters wanted to stop were for Contributions. None of the options on the Email preferences page deal with Contributions. Hence my suggestion to create an email filter on the receiving end.

Right, contribution receipts (one for each submission) are emailed regardless of an IMDb registered users' notification settings. This is why I try to bundle multiple updates in the fewest number of submissions, albeit this makes it harder for to track how many data items I have been responsible for updating.

Jeorj Euler and bderoes, thank you.
Have tried a minute ago, and now I see that option has influence only on those listed news.

For all who wants to switch the contribution notifications off, I DO do not recommend such if you care about the result of your submissions.

When you completed a submission, then the notifications is the only means to let you know whether your efforts went to the system, or not. If the notifications are switched off, then you know nothing about possible third troubles interrupting the whole process, such as server errors (500).

I respectfully disagree, since the submission reference number is presented right in the submission posting interface to the person who made it right after being transmitted unless indeed something has has interfered with receipt. However, there is always a chance that the submitter's web browser could shut down before he or she has a chance to take note of the confirmation page, meaning that follow up would entail checking manually checking one of the two online contribution history indices, and possibly re-opening the browser to a restored session, which may have remembered the state of the submission form, enough to re-post the same data including hidden metadata.
