They (Amazon) have a lot of things.
They Have IMDb. Yes.
Ted Turners got a lot of things.
MGM Got a lot of things.
He who dies with the most things, WINS!
Seriously, they can't afford to own THAT much.
And all those streaming titles are paid for in advance on Amazon and indirectly through Prime fees.
IMDb is just an Encyclopedia of Movies.
It Compliments Amazon, plus it gives them a ready made platform for advertising.

Thomas: IMDb doesn't need to get permission from anyone to present information about films. However, Amazon Prime Video definitely needs to get permission to distribute films online, and that means making some kind of payment deal.

I wonder if the word "require" has been used where the word "acquire" was meant to be used. Otherwise, the question is somewhat hard to interpret.

The key thing to remember is that buying anything at all requires the consent of the party from which the particular material is being bought, if that party has not clearly advertised that the material is "for sale". Otherwise, the action would be akin to eminent domain, an authority that non-government institutions lack.

Hi, dipsy. I would prefer to assume good faith. Plus, we don't know how old or young the various people who visit this forum are, so it may not hurt to spell out certain things about how the world generally works.

In light of one post being removed I would say I am correct, however that is not to say you and others can't keep playing the game. But I'm not playing anymore. ...LOL
