It is likely a character-based poll, which are no longer supported by IMDb.

To aid your effort in identifying your character polls, Dan, created this list of 843 character polls as of 8-Nov-2017. The polls are sorted in descending order of votes on the first tab and by author on the second tab.

FYI,
I know your character lists or the poll links no longer exist/work. In addition, to Dan's spreadsheet or injunction with it you can retrieve the past poll results and actual poll using the url in column G and using the Internet Archive: Wayback Machine.

ie Favorite "Star Trek: Discovery" Character
prior Poll URL: https://web.archive.org/web/20171123000405/http://www.imdb.com/poll/JVoxmPD4hmQ/ and the results url: https://web.archive.org/web/20171123001934/https://www.imdb.com/poll/JVoxmPD4hmQ/results (dead)  If you are curious to see how they finished or want to use them as a guideline to create a similiar poll. I usually added new previously unavailable options, while cutting the bottom third of answers as under-performing options, that I now knew how they would perform in hindsight.

Well they can't be active all the time :) they're just polls, not machines...
