I have just created a list for Actors/Actresses so that I can go to them easier to see their latest Films.
How can I add actors/actresses to this list from their info page rather than having to type in the name of the person within my list search?

Hi Paula Soppitt,

IMDb currently does not have a way to add a person to a list directly from their credits page. This is a feature that others have requested. When I find the idea (suggestion), I will post a link to this thread. Until IMDb implements this feature, this is a way to make it easier to add people to a People list.

Let's say you wish to add James Stewart (

1. Open your list is one browser window.

2. Click the edit button.

3. Open a second browser window.

4. Find the credit page for the actor, actress or other person.

5. Copy the link for that page.
For example:

6. Go to the browser window with your list.

7. Paste the link into the text box labeled: "Add a name to this list:"
For example:

8. Click the Search button. Exactly one name should appear, the name for the person you want to add.

9. Click the name. The person will be added to your list.

10. Repeat steps 4 through 9 until you've added all the people you wish to add.

11. Click the yellow Done button.

= = =

Admittedly, this is a lot more work than having an add to list button for people. Let's hope IMDb implements the feature.

I hadn't realized that you could use the full URL. I have been using just the n-const (e.g. nm0000071). A double click on that portion of the URL selects it, so it is just as easy as the full URL (sometimes even easier) and it works just as well.

Just a note, to give the OP (and others) options.

I failed to mention this out of laziness. So long as the parser for the Search find a valid name ID, it will return a unique name.

All of these search strings return the same result:
James Stewart (
(
name/nm0000071
nm0000071
