Hey there im Michael and im sorry if my english isnt so good.

I've created this link for searching the IMDB when i need a new movie to watch.

http://www.imdb.com/search/title?count=100&!genres=animation&my_ratings=exclude&num_vote...

The link has been made so that film i've rated, wont show up. This is good, because if a see a movie on the list that i know i wont ever see(Hindi/India), i can rate it and it wont pop up again on my list. Very smart!

But once in a while my computer deletes cookies, and then IMDB cant find out which movies i have rated, meaning i have to start rating all over again in order to get the film away again. Is there any way i can create my link to avoid films from India, so i dont need to rate at all?

I do not know if everybody from India has an agreement to go and rate Indian movies 10/10 on IMDB, but it is ruining my list, and i really want a solution.

Please what do i do? I cant have a list where Lord of the Rings are topped by some Bollywood movie.

Thanks in advance!

Michael

First of all, you should not be rating shows that you haven't seen.

I am not 100% sure about this, but I believe you just need to change your request slightly. Exactly what you need to do depends on exactly what you want to exclude.

I believe adding &!countries=in will exclude films where India was involved while adding &countries=!in will exclude only those films where India is the sole country involved.

Note that the description will say Country of Origin India, because the software that creates it does not recognize the 'not' created by the !

The first version (any participation) is
www.imdb.com/search/title?count=100&!genres=animation&!countries=in&my_ratings=exclude&a...
while the second (only India) is
http://www.imdb.com/search/title?count=100&!genres=animation&countries=!in&my_ratings=ex...

I am less certain about the second version, but I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

In my quick test, "countries=!in" apparently did not work.
It had no effect.  Search results were the same as if the parameter were omitted.

Hi Michael,

We do not currently have a feature allowing users to exclude films from a particular region. I've changed the category of this thread to "Idea". Our team often reviews "Idea" threads when making enhancements to the site.
