How do I change a job title next to my name on IMDB profile? I used to be an actress and have acting credits but now work mainly as an editor and would like that to be how people recognise me when they search for my name

The only way you'll see it changed is if/when you have more credits as an editor. It is automated and goes by the number of credits (and a series counts each episode listed) in each department.

That's what I don't understand as I do have more credits as an editor but it still says I'm an actress , with a tag of my first film on Imdb

I see. Well, it's only a guess without knowing which page you're talking about. Can you give a clue? Otherwise, that's how it works for the rest of the site.

If you are Agnieszka Liggett, your name page now shows your  jobs as Editor | Actress | Editorial Department, although search still returns Actress in its result. It looks to me as though the increase in Editor credits is relatively recent, and the change to the Name page takes at least overnight. The change to the Search results will probably occur in the next few days.

IMDb is excellent at teaching the need for patience. :)

Thank you very much for all the responses, the change will be helpful as people who search for me on IMDB now are slightly confused if I'm the right person

I made an error in my previous reply.

The Title listed in the Search results is the top item in the Known For list, and has nothing to do with the number of credits in each section. Therefore it will not change until the algorithm decides that the general user is more likely to recognize your work on another project.

IMDb doesn't discuss the weight given to the various elements (or even exactly what those elements are) but I suspect that it assumes that Cast credits are more likely to be recognized than Editor or Editorial work and therefore probably gives them extra weight.

To see IMDb's statement on the Known For  items, see When I search for a person, each matching name on the results page has a title next to it. How is that title chosen?
