Hey all, how do I disable the pop-up video that automatically plays on top of every screen when they go live?

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled more and more and more intrusive advertising.
Another notch up (or down!). Now IMDb posts advertising with SOUND, and even without an "X" button to get rid of it. How far will you go? It is now past the point of halfway - what I mean by that is that it is now more annoying to use IMDb than it is helpful or useful. I keep 'threatening' to stop contributing to IMDb. I am getting ever closer to that unfortunate decision. I have a feeling that you (IMDb) don't give a rat's . . . as long as you make your advertising bucks. Your users/contributors are expendable - your advertisers are not. Pathetic.

This doesn't work for me. For security reasons, I have my browser set to remove all cookies each time I close it. I guess I'm SOL (a coarse, Amerikan expression).

Some sort of script blocker for your browser. I use Firefox with the noscript addon. Sometimes it causes more problems than it solves, but this is exactly where it is useful.
