Good God! How do I add a movie to my list that I've called "Yet To Watch"? I've had an ongoing set of lists for 15 years now (ever since back when it was called "My Movies" and through the "Watchlist" and "Your Lists" incarnations) and you keep making it harder to navigate them. Format changes and overbearing advertisements bog down the site and now you don't even give me the option add a flippin' movie to an existing list! You're getting as bad as Yahoo!'s clunky tabloid of a site. You've gotten more concerned with pumping the video (and commercials) and competing with YouTube than you are about the DATABASE in your NAME. Make the site a useable tool again so users can keep track of what they've seen and what they WANT to see.

All your lists can be accessed by clicking the downward pointing arrow on the righthand side of the Watchlist. Each one has a + and a >> - obviously the former adds it to your list and the latter takes you through to the list.

Or you can hover over the big Community button at the top of the page and then click the Your Lists link, which gives you a full page detailing your lists. Once your are on your list, you can edit it and add films directly to the list there - you can either search for them or use the link (or just the title constant from the link), the second approach is handy as it gives you the one result.

Also if ads are annoying, then install an ad blocker plugin.on your browser - I did it years ago (along with a Flash blocker because it was the era when every site seemed to want to hammer large and load Flash ads down our throats).

LOL...I didn't jump in with it because of him flooding the boards with the little rant there. Sorry he jumped on you!

No. To all. This is how it USED to work. Now, the Watchlist button is gone from any given movie's page. I can't add anything to Your Lists in the Community tab--just delete or move around what's already there. If they would just use simple text links instead of complicated animated graphic buttons, I wouldn't have this problem. No, I'm not using Windows 8, but I'm not using Windows 98 either. And, thanks for the input, but I was expecting help from an actual staff member, not another user trolling the complaint board.

Welllllll apologies in advance for another reply, but it sounds like you are using the combined or old layout view. Turn that off in your preferences and it should work again.

Here is the link:

http://www.imdb.com/profile/lists

It gives you links to all your lists, you can click on the link, edit the list and add films directly.

Look, IMDb is actually making it HARDER by getting RID of a complicated (programming and layout-wise) menu. I now have to add things to my Watchlist and then move them to other lists instead of being able to add them directly to a particular list. The "Reference View" setting has nothing to do with it. So, what do I do? Bend over and take it because whining on a message board (figure it out yourselves, suckers) doesn't do jack. "Contact Us" link, my @$$.

You've actually got that all backwards. You used to have to add it, it would go into a "pending" list, then you'd have to move it over. Now you just click the drop-down menu and click on the list you want to add it to. Much easier. Fewer steps. Nothing to figure out. It's a big improvement over the old way (which is oddly similar to what you're saying you now have to do). If you're using the old version of the site, you might consider using the current version with the improvements.

Oh yeah. THAT was a while ago. Got so used to adding them directly I forgot about the pending list. The only difference now is that it's called a Watchlist. So, now, I've done nothing and, surprise surprise, it's fixed. I guess the squeaky wheel DOES get the grease. Good thing too because I'd rather not go 100% mobile. Though advertisers want you to believe otherwise so you'll buy their toys, desktops and wires still run the world.

Yeah, it was a while ago...I hated that "pending" and loved when they changed it so you can add straight away.

Did you, by any chance, change a setting? I got stuck in the old version of the site for quite a while ago and the Help Desk fix didn't work. Not until someone pointed out it changes when you change to show main details instead of checking "always display full cast and crew." Why that fixed it, I'll never know.

Yeah, I'm not on the mobile bandwagon yet either.

Glad it's "fixed!"
