How do I link to an individual comment?

I am assuming you are talking about user reviews rather than comments posted to the IMDb message boards. It is not straight forward to determine the link for an individual review. I will use the specific example of reviews for The Shawshank Redemption (1994), since it is easier to show how this works with a specific example.

1. From the main page combined view [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111161/c...] scroll down to the "User Reviews" section. You should see one review.
2. At the bottom click: See more (2566 total) » [The number will vary depending upon the film.] This will bring you to the Reviews & Ratings for The Shawshank Redemption [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111161/r...]
3. At the top of the Reviews & Ratings page, click Index 2566 reviews in total. This will bring you to a page that shows the titles and authors for 50 reviews [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111161/r...?]. To find the specific review you may need to go to a different page.
4. For sake of argument, let's say we wish to reference the first review. Click on the title for the review:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111161/reviews?start=0
Unfortunately, this view also shows the reviews that follow. To display only one review, still is a hit and miss proposition.

Here's how it works. Like you said it's best explained with an example. Let's suppose you want to link to Les Adams comment on The Fighting Kentuckian (1949). There are only 16 comments on this title, imdb.com/title/tt0041361/reviews. Sorted chronologically, imdb.com/title/tt0041361/reviews?filter=chrono, it's the sixth comment listed, Grapes and olives don't fare well in Alabama.

Now that we've located the comment, how do we link specifically and exclusively to it? AAI. Click the author name on the comment to get a list of Les' comments. Click Alphabetical to sort them (Les has a lot of comments, and looking for the title in a chronological list could take some time). Click Index. (I'm also gonna click Hide summaries here to compress the listing) Find The Fighting Kentuckian (1949) in the alphabetical list (with the 'T's). 50 titles to a page, it's on the 7th page. Click the title, and your link is in the URL, imdb.com/title/tt0041361/reviews-11.

Easy-peasy, lemon squeezy.

I did mean user reviews rather than message board comments. Sorry for the imprecision.
