There is already an IMDB page created for me based on the credits I received from 3 projects. This page was established before I registered with IMDB. Is there a way to for me to be able to "take over" or manage that IMDB page or have it transferred to my account? What's the proper way of handling this situation?

You can claim your entry with an IMDB Pro subscription, but this doesn't mean you can control it, it allows you to add photographs and a resume.

Anyone with an ordinary account can edit your page and add credits to it, whether you claim it or not, which means you don't need to claim it to edit it.

... You can claim your entry with an [IMDbPro] subscription,
but this doesn't mean you can control it ....
BTW, that is why I think the following statement seems a little bit confusing:

"...IMDbPro membership puts you in control of the details on your IMDb page...."

(That statement appears in the "Profile Power" subsection
of the IMDbPro Member Benefits page.)

I hope newcomers can understand the scope of that statement.
IIUC, subscribing to IMDbPro "puts you in control of" some, not all,
types of "details on your IMDb page."   Of course, subscribers cannot
expect to be given total control of all of the details on name pages.
