How Long does it take for edits to come up?

Hey I am not going to edit the thanks section of the movies' page anymore and just do more research and edit on IMDb.com. But I have a question of the edits, what causes them to take too long to get up on the page? why can't IMDb put edits like Warner Bros. Animation was the production company of Quest for Camelot? And what takes so long to put a uncredited role in a complete crew? Also, I did research on Suzie Katayama and here is a link for movie music work: http://www.allmusic.com/artist/suzie-.... Also, I did research on her doing work for Finding Nemo on http://duranduran.wikia.com/wiki/Suzi... and http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?... and my edit to it hasn't come up yet. Whats the problem? Also my edit to Pulp Fiction hasn't come up due to I did research on Robert Rodriguez's involvement on the film on his trivia page (and I want to know who put it up and whats the source) and a blog/website I found but cant remember.

Please only edit what you can prove. The best proof is a screen capture of what is in the on screen credits. You should not be submitting things you think look nice or just because someone said so on the internet. Tbere is a lot of bad info on the internet, including many of the credits you've submitted. "Thanks" can be submitted, but only if the film maker said so in the film's credits. You listed a bunch for Rango, for instance, that did not appear. When you do stuff like that, people need to take the time to verify. If you establish a history of invalid entries, your submissions will likely get scrutinized more.

Times really depend on the section and the processing backlog. Once it is accepted, it can be a bit before all the relevant pages get rebuilt - so even when it is greenlit it can take a while.

For example, one short film I added went through in a week and it took around a week for the last credits to appear, but I kept an eye on another short and it took twice as long at each stage.

I did a lot of TV and film credit updates at the same time and the TV ones came through much quicker than the films (less than a week compared to at least two - and some never went through, oddly though one film was half updated).

Sooooooo it depends.

I went into more detail about my concerns over the Pulp Fiction updates and I think it should be rejected unless you can find better evidence:

Looking that up I notice another thread where you ask for thanks credits to be canceled because you were wrong:

Could I suggest you take a bit more time to make sure these are real and not just something you read on the web somewhere. I don't like the look of any of those sources - if IMDB and Wikipedia can't be used as reliable sources (rightly) then I'm not prepared to take the say so of a wikia site and an anime database as gospel. Try and stick to primary sources (was it on the movie credits? Has the person themselves confirmed this work?) or reliable secondary sources (perhaps a researcher in the field who has a consistently good reputation). It is easier to wait and add these later then have to go through the corrupted data and move the erroneous entries (which can be more difficult to remove than they were to add).

Tell you what guys, why don't I take a short break from editing and work on making lists that might be interesting to viewers. That way things can go better for us. But I still need to look good to see if Robert Rodiguez had involvment with Pulp Fiction, so I can complete my Oscar scrapbook of winners, nominees and people who had involvment with the film becoming famous directors. I am sorry, I will focus on making lists.

Yes keeping looking for evidence - if you find it then add it to the PF entry, if not RR's trivia needs editing. So one way or another something needs doing there.

In addition to the feedback provided by BluesManSF and Emperor, I wanted to mention this page which has some general information about update/processing times:

http://www.imdb.com/help/show_leaf?up...

The short answer is that in most cases updates should appear between 2 and 14 days after being submitted.
