I know that names in articles are automatically matched to the IMDb page and you can correct those if they are wrong, but is it possible to add a link to a name that was ignored and therefore has no link to the person's IMDb page?

Yes you can - I've done this a lot (I have my helpdesk queue full of them at the moment*) as you might add a title that has related news articles that aren't linked in.

All you need to do is click the report a problem link and then you can then send them links for titles, people, characters and companies to add to the related news articles. Just make it clear what you want linking, so just give the name and the link, rather than wordy descriptions - keeps it simple and lets staff process the request quickly.

* They are usually processed pretty quickly, but there is a backlog at the moment and is taking a while, so you'll have to be patient.
